The Recipes Gallery

The recipes Gallery is where you can browse all your well-structured and super-organized recipes.

The gallery contains two main components:

1- Navigation menu

This is my favourite way to navigate through notion large databases especially when you have multiple filters and multiple layouts ( gallery, list etc..)

The menu comes with 2 basic sections (meals & categories) and their subsections. but of course, you can add a shortcut to whatever view you’d like [How to add an item to the menu? See the Tutorial on Tango or expand the toggle & follow the instructions here.](https://organizing-wonderland.notion.site/How-to-add-an-item-to-the-menu-See-the-Tutorial-on-Tango-or-expand-the-toggle-follow-the-instruct-16678458898681099324dfdb1a672eb6)

2- The Recipes Database

This is where your recipes are actually stored and organized.

The properties

You can take a look at all the properties here to familiarize yourself with them and even customize them to fit your needs :

The “Recipes To Try” database

Before taking the time to add a new recipe to the recipes database, You might want to try it first. That’s where this base come in handy. It acts as a buffer for new recipes that will either end up in your recipes database or be deleted forever. You can just store the URL of the recipe or use Notion Clipper or any clipper you use. Personally, though, I only care about the URL to the original page. So, I spend 0 time looking at the content of the page.

The Food Base

The food base comes pre-loaded with almost 300 categorized food items with their icons and how many calories they contain per 100 grams or 1 oz. you can either enter the items you usually use here directly or wait till you are creating your recipe and couldn’t find that item and create a record for it there.

The Meal Planner

The purpose of the meal planner is to help you save time during the week by planning ahead what you’re gonna eat. I can’t stress enough how this has helped my husband and me have zero stress about cooking, and the annoying daily question “What’s for dinner ?!”. You don’t necessarily need to plan all the meals for all the days, but I find planning dinner is the most important since it requires most of the shopping and cooking.

The meal planner has 2 main moods (the planner & the menu).

The Planner

This is basically a database with a record for each day (and it’s already pre-filled till 2025).

You can either choose to plan the upcoming week or month, which I prefer. To help you plan effectively, try new things and not get stuck with the same recipes each week there are 3 views attached to the planner

The Menus

Here you can view your entirely planned week or month menu. You can also take a screenshot, print it and put it on your fridge if it makes it easier for you.
